PHOTO GUIDE · PLANNING FOR A GATHERING

A few familiar faces for the reunion.

At a reunion, a few short animated portraits can sit beside the albums and printed photos. They work best when a handful are chosen carefully and the people closest to each photo have been asked. Use the worksheet and schedule below.

Photo selection worksheet

Copy this table into a notebook or spreadsheet and fill in one row per photograph you are considering. The rows below are made-up examples to show how it works.

Working backward from the reunion date

  1. About four weeks before: gather candidate photos and ask the relatives in your worksheet.
  2. About three weeks before: scan or photograph the prints and check each one is at least 512 pixels on each side.
  3. Two to three weeks before: order. Delivery is usually within 48 hours after payment and receipt of a usable photo, but leave time for a possible retry or a photo that needs replacing.
  4. The week before: download every film and test it on the screen you will use.
  5. On the day: keep the original prints next to the screen.

These are planning suggestions, not delivery commitments.

Showing the clips at the gathering

  • A laptop or tablet beside the photo albums lets people choose whether to watch.
  • The films are silent, so they will not compete with conversation.
  • A small printed card saying “Animated with AI from family photographs” explains what the clips are before anyone has to ask.
  • If someone finds a clip uncomfortable, it is easy to close the laptop. A large screen in the middle of the room is harder to avoid.

Budgeting for several photographs

Each film comes from one photograph. A five-second film is US$5 and a ten-second film is US$9. For several ten-second films, a pack of three credits is US$25 and a pack of six is US$49. Credits do not expire, so leftovers can wait for the next occasion.

For example, four ten-second films could be one three-credit pack plus one single film (US$34), or a six-credit pack (US$49) with two credits left over. See pricing for details.
